Title 24 Solar Compliance — What Your Customers Now Need
Under California Title 24, Part 6, §110.4(c), solar pool heating is one of the recognized compliance pathways for new pool construction. For permits submitted on or after January 1, 2026, if solar pool heating is used as the qualifying heating system, the solar collector area must equal at least 60% of the pool and/or spa water surface area for single-family homes.
This isn't a fixed square footage — it scales with the pool. A 500 sq. ft. pool requires 300 sq. ft. of collector. A 700 sq. ft. pool requires 420 sq. ft. The table to the right shows the required collector area and our installation pricing for common pool sizes.

Send Us the Size
Share the pool size, address, roof type and proposed equipment location. That's all we need to get started

We Size & Design
We calculate the required collector area, design the system layout and provide your customer of a visual graphic of what the sytem will look like and how the pipes will be routed

Plumber Makes It Solar-Ready
Your plumber installs the required valves, tees and stub-outs during equipment pad work — clean, simple and built into the schedule. An additional sensor for SOLAR should be connected to the controller.

We Install the Solar System
We can install anytime after the plumber, the pool does not have to be complete. We arrive on schedule, install the collectors and connect to the equipment pad. No surprises. Usually a 1 day install

We Commission & Support
We commission the system, orient the homeowner on controls and automation, and own all solar-related service calls going forward.

Here's What We Need From Your Plumber
We don't want to show up after your equipment pad is finished and tell you something needs to be replumbed.
Bring us into the project early and we'll provide your plumber with a simple solar-ready plumbing specification. The required valves, tees and stub-outs can be incorporated while the equipment is being installed — making the eventual solar installation faster, cleaner and less expensive.
This is where your responsibility ends and ours begins: you build the pool and provide the plumbing provisions. We take it from there.
What we need from your plumber:
- Supply and return stub-outs at the equipment pad
- Isolation valves on supply and return lines
- Bypass tee for solar loop integration
- Wire an additional sensor for the roof
